The Company
Founded in 1992, Transportadora de Gas del Sur (TGS) is one of Argentina’s leading energy infrastructure companies, operating one of the largest natural gas transportation systems in Latin America. Through its extensive pipeline network and processing facilities, the company provides natural gas transportation, processing, and commercialization services to utilities, industrial customers, and power generators. As a key player in the energy sector, TGS continues to advance its digital transformation strategy by optimizing operations, strengthening the safety and reliability of its infrastructure, and improving operational efficiency. The company continuously invests in modernizing its digital platforms, automation capabilities, and data-driven technologies to support a smarter and more sustainable energy ecosystem.
The Challenge
The client needed to modernize a set of mission-critical applications supporting its transportation operations. Evolving business rules and the adoption of new technologies had outgrown the capabilities of the existing framework, increasing maintenance complexity and costs while limiting the platform's ability to evolve.
The Solution
We partnered with the client to redesign the platform's architecture using Agile methodologies and Design Thinking. Through a gradual modernization strategy, we migrated the operational control and customer service modules to a modern architecture based on Spring Boot, REST APIs, JPA, and Hibernate. This approach reduced technical debt, simplified maintenance, and established the foundation for a more scalable platform ready to support future business needs.
